Street Lighting
Street lights are viewed as an important city service because they provide light in places where residents are walking, biking, and driving. The purpose of the City’s street lights are to light the roadway to improve safety for drivers, riders, and pedestrians. Authorizing the location and placement of street lights is the responsibility of the Public Works Department. Thereafter, our local utility provider, Jackson Energy Authority (JEA), provides the maintenance and installation of the street lighting.
