The City of Jackson Health & Sanitation Department is responsible for maintaining the residential and commercial collection and disposal of municipal solid waste and residential yard debris hand piles through a private collection contractor within the city limits.

The City Ordinance sets the garbage disposal rates for residential and small commercial businesses. These charges for this service are included on the utility monthly bills from Jackson Energy Authority. Commercial Hand Pick-ups could have additional charges which are assessed by the amount measured based on volume per week.

Dumpster Service is provided by Waste Management to businesses generating large amounts of garbage. Rates are set according to the size of the container and the amount of service required. These charges are invoiced by the City of Jackson Health & Sanitation Dept. 

We provide residential bulk waste curbside collection. Bulk waste must be scheduled.
