
Captain Siler has served in Law Enforcement since 1988 as a member of the Jackson Police Department. He began his career as a Patrol Officer Assigned to the Patrol Division. During his assignment to the Patrol Division, he also served as a Field Training Officer. In 1990, Captain Siler successfully assessed for a position on the departments S.W.A.T. Team and became a member that same year. He rose through the ranks to that of Lieutenant and Assumed the command of the team in 1999.
Captain Siler served 25 year with the departments full time S.W.A.T. Team and was involved in numerous high risk operations, dignitary protection events and specialized assignments. During his assignment to S.W.A.T., he also served as the departments Chief Firearms Instructor and trained officers in numerous other areas as well.
Captain Siler currently serves as the Training Division Commander and the General Departmental Instructor for the Jackson Police Department. He has been actively involved in training throughout most of his career in law enforcement and military.
Captain Siler is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command and holds several instructor certifications. He has attended numerous schools, encompassing various disciplines from S.W.A.T., Officer Safety, Patrol Tactics, and instructor related topics. Captain Siler retired after serving 23 years in the United States Army. He served in several different capacities including Drill Sergeant
