JACKSON, Tenn. – The City of Jackson, TN is pleased to announce the hiring of Kelsea Merriweather as the city’s new Human Resources Director.
Merriweather is a Jackson, TN native with almost a decade of Human Resources experience, specifically in the automotive manufacturing industry. She most recently served in Employee Relations with Ford Motor Company at BlueOval City.
“I am thrilled to lead the City of Jackson’s HR department with innovative strategies to better service and develop our amazing employees," said Merriweather. "There are several opportunities to streamline our operations, while creating a dynamic workplace culture and I am excited about the road ahead.”
Kelsea holds an Associate’s degree in Psychology from Jackson State Community College, Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Memphis-Lambuth and a Masters of Business Administration in HR Management from Bethel University.
Merriweather has a proven track record of strong interpersonal skills, ability to build rapport with employees at all levels, and her commitment to leading a positive work environment. Kelsea is passionate about workforce planning and implementing initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction and retention, through diverse teams that will drive business operations. She has experience in providing strategic guidance for aspects of the human resources function and establishing a direction for leadership through policies and procedures.

Additionally, I look forward working with Kelsea. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role as our city’s new Human Resources Director.”
Merriweather currently serves on the Board of Directors for Keep My Hood Good, and the University of Memphis-Lambuth Alumni board. In her spare time, she demonstrates her passion for singing as the Praise and Worship Leader at Greater Visions Church.
