The Gang Enforcement Team (GET) is part of the Jackson Police Department’s Investigative Services Division and is supervised by Lieutenant Rodney Anderson [email protected] and Sergeant Richard Newbill [email protected].

GET consists of investigators with various levels of experience and expertise in the law enforcement profession specializing in proactive investigative techniques.

GET uses several techniques to address and deter gang violence such as prevention efforts by doing presentations at schools and community events to educate people about the dangers of gang life.

GET also conducts proactive investigations relating to crimes that are most commonly committed by criminal street gangs, individual street gang members, or their associates. These crimes include but are not limited to, narcotics and or firearm related violations, and violent offenses against persons or property (such as homicides, drive by shootings, home invasion, kidnapping, robberies).

GET will also gather information on gang related matters and criminal violations committed by criminal gangs. The team will share information with other divisions inside the Jackson Police Department. as well as other law enforcement agencies.
